Hello everyone, It's nice to meet you. I'm your Other Mother, but if you wish you could simply call me Mother, or Mommy, Mom...I don't like Ma very much it sounds rather rough don't you think? Mama is lovely though.

Now where was I? Oh yes. It breaks my heart to think of how this world has stolen you all away from your families. So many of you must feel very alone. Even with the families you've made here there really is no substitute is there?

Well, if any of you need anything, if you want to talk or need a hug, a warm meal a light snack, maybe you'd like to play a game?

Of coarse dear, I'm an Other Mother. There's a very fine difference you see.

Everyone is born to a Mother, but Other Mother's exist to love children, particularly children who have been separated from their mothers, or who's mothers aren't very good or perhaps are just too busy.

So in a way you could say I'm everyone's mother.

I believe a mother is someone who loves and cares for a child. Someone who's there when they need it, and will give of themselves to help the child learn, grow and succeed.

Those are the things I was created to do for sad, lonely children who need a figure like me in their lives.
