Hello everyone, It's nice to meet you. I'm your Other Mother, but if you wish you could simply call me Mother, or Mommy, Mom...I don't like Ma very much it sounds rather rough don't you think? Mama is lovely though.
Of coarse Mother.
That's my dear sweet Keramon, he's such a good boy.
Thank you Mother.
Now where was I? Oh yes. It breaks my heart to think of how this world has stolen you all away from your families. So many of you must feel very alone. Even with the families you've made here there really is no substitute is there?
Well, if any of you need anything, if you want to talk or need a hug, a warm meal a light snack, maybe you'd like to play a game?
Mother Loves games.
I do very much. And I love all of you. I can't wait to meet you all and I hope you'll visit me soon.

Date: 2010-08-08 04:38 pm (UTC)I'm an alchemist and I'm completely cut off from my power source.
Re: [Screened from The Other Mother]
Date: 2010-08-08 04:47 pm (UTC)In my world they are particles that make up matter, at least that is the simple version.
Fonons in the atmosphere can be used to preform techniques called fonic artes.
Fonic artes can be used to create attacks such as blasts of fire and electrical shocks.
[Screened from The Other Mother]
Date: 2010-08-08 04:49 pm (UTC)Is it possible to replicate these fonons? If so, then I'd like to offer my talents to further their development.
[Screened from The Other Mother]
Date: 2010-08-08 05:07 pm (UTC)I don't believe you could replicate fonons however in my world fonons are also used as a power source for machinery. My research partner and I are working on finding an equally efficient fuel.
Though there is still one example of fonon-run machines here that my research partner brought with him to the digital world. Using what fonons are left in his personal items and in his body he runs what can be simply called a flying chair.

Date: 2010-08-08 05:23 pm (UTC)The first step is comprehension. It's performed by understanding the inherent structure and properties of the atomic or molecular makeup of a particular material to be transmuted, including the flow of potential and kinetic energy within.
The second one is deconstruction, which can be accomplished by using the energy to break down the physical structure of the identified material into a more malleable state so as to be easily reshaped into a new form.
Then, finally, you have reconstruction, the third step. It's continuing the flow of energy into the new shape.
Of course, one must understand the law of Equivalent Exchange. In order to obtain something, something of equal value must be lost or destroyed. This can be achieved by the Law of Conversation of Mass, which dictates that energy and matter can neither be created from nothing nor destroyed to the point of elemental nonexistence. For example, to create an object weighing one kilogram, at least one kilogram of material must be necessary and destroying an object weighing one kilogram would reduce it to a set of parts, the sum of which would weigh one kilogram.
Then, to compliment the Law of Conversation of Mass is the Law of Natural Providence states that an object or material made of a particular substance or element can only be transmuted into another object with the same basic makeup and properties of the initial material. Summarizing this, an object of mostly water can only be transmuted into another object of water.
However, there are those that try to bypass Equivalent Exchange, which is known as a rebound. A rebound can happen when too much is attempted out of too little. This can be met with serious injuries, an accidental mutation, or, sadly, death.
All alchemical transmutations must be achieved with a transmutation circle, as well. There are those that can transmute without the help of a transmutation circle, but those are few and far in between. This can be caused by going through the Gate of Truth, the place where all alchemical energy is flowing constantly of departed human souls.
She did it again...
Shut up, Agumon Hakase. But, yes. There's your crash course in alchemy. And... ooh, a flying chair? That's quite interesting.

Date: 2010-08-08 05:48 pm (UTC)The penalty for trying to use fonic artes with a weaker constitution or not enough energy is that it makes you very weak so fonists keep a very close eye on how much energy they have and avoid using artes until they can bring it back up.
However we do depart when it comes to the transmutation circle, some artes create circles like that but it is mostly to draw the fonons to that spot for an attack or healing on a particular person or group. That may have to do with the fact your source of energy is coming from that gate you mentioned and our energy comes from our bodies.
[Screened from The Other Mother]
Date: 2010-08-08 05:55 pm (UTC)I see... And, these can be in your body, too? Remarkable...
The same goes for me, too, in regards to the energy. Only that when I transmute items, my body acts like an alchemical current in order to produce the object necessary. So, I have a constant energy flow in my body, similar to my body's systems that all function to keep me alive. However, since I haven't done a transmutation in months time, I imagine all of it is pent up at this point.
I must say that this is a very interesting topic, and I'd love to know more about it. In return, I can teach you more about alchemy?
[Screened from The Other Mother]
Date: 2010-08-08 06:13 pm (UTC)Oh also a few people on Auldrant such as myself can do what you'd consider the second and third steps of Alchemy. I have a spear which I can break down into its fonons, and bring those fonons into my body. When I require the spear I bring the fonons out and reconstruct the spear.
However your body must be compatible with the ability to do this otherwise there could be some dangerous results and even death.
Of course I wouldn't mind teaching you about fonons and I am rather intrigued by the similarities between alchemy and fonic artes so I would love to study alchemy further to see how similar they truly are.
[Screened from The Other Mother]
Date: 2010-08-08 06:21 pm (UTC)I see... [ More rustling and writing. ] The only thing that only slightly recreates my kind of alchemy -- bioalchemy, in which I take the chemicals that are in my body as well as outside of my body and use them to amplify my alchemy -- is the process of when I use digisoul in order to make explosions happen. It's nowhere near the desired effect that I'd like, but if it works, it works.
Mm. Of course. [ Scritch, scritch, scritch-- ]
Then, if you are the kind to read books, I have two of them that were written by a great alchemist. They are Les Demeures Philosophales by Fulcanelli as well as Le Mystere des Cathedrales, also by Fulcanelli.
Also, off topic, but if you and your research partner require a place to stay, the Hyperion in Neon City is a wonderful place to go to.
Re: [Screened from The Other Mother]
Date: 2010-08-08 06:29 pm (UTC)And yes if you send me the books I will read them fairly quickly.
As for a place to stay, my research partner Dist and I are staying in Junk City. It has the most access to materials for our work on machines. However if we happen to visit Neon City, Dist and I will keep the Hyperion in mind as a place to stay.
[Screened from The Other Mother]
Date: 2010-08-08 06:33 pm (UTC)Very well. I do want them back, due to how they're part of my little library collection.
[ Attachment: Les Demeures Philosophales and Le Mystere des Cathedrales. They look quite old, though, as well as look like they've been written in with various notes. ]
I see. That's right next door to Neon City, believe it or not. And, very well. That's where my family and myself stay.
[Screened from The Other Mother]
Date: 2010-08-08 06:43 pm (UTC)Now is there anything else you want me to discuss about fonons before I end communications?
[Screened from The Other Mother]
Date: 2010-08-08 06:45 pm (UTC)How did fonons come into existence? And, you can ask questions about alchemy, too.
[Screened from The Other Mother]
Date: 2010-08-08 07:03 pm (UTC)It allows one to use healing artes, use fonic hymns which are similar to fonic artes but play more of a protective role and when this was still in-tact you could of also read the prophecy of our world called the score. However the Score is no longer in effect but it used to be one of the biggest parts of people's lives in Auldrant.
So simply put for your question, fonons came into existence the same way particles in your world did.
[Screened from The Other Mother]
Date: 2010-08-08 07:07 pm (UTC)So I see... That's marvelous. It really does sound like you have a wonderful world, to be able to have items like those, Mr. Curtiss, or do you prefer Jade?
Re: [Screened from The Other Mother]
Date: 2010-08-08 07:15 pm (UTC)Also something you may find very interesting, the capital city of my home country Malkuth, Grand Chokmah is completely floating on water thanks to advanced use of Fonons.
For more complex pieces of information like how that works however I will put inside a report rather than telling you all this information.
[Screened from The Other Mother]
Date: 2010-08-08 07:26 pm (UTC)That sounds like a city in my world, called Aquroya. The citizens there know that their city will be under water, and therefore, cease to exist.
I'd love a report. Thank you, Jade.
[Screened from The Other Mother]
Date: 2010-08-08 07:37 pm (UTC)And you're welcome Sabine, it will take some time but I will write down certain fundamental aspects of using fonons and the more detailed theories.
But I think it is time I get to reading these books you have sent me. Goodbye for now Sabine.
[Screened from The Other Mother]
Date: 2010-08-08 07:40 pm (UTC)Very well. I await eagerly for the chance to read the report you'll do.
Mm. I hope they're of some use. Have a good day, Jade.
